United Way of Acadiana’s annual community-wide effort to provide thousands of school supplies to children in need across Acadiana launches Wednesday, July 10th.
“United Way of Acadiana wants every child in Acadiana to start the school year off with everything they need to succeed,” said Brittani O'Hara, United Way of Acadiana Volunteer Mobilization Manager. “Stuff the Bus is one of the many ways we can come together as a community to invest in the success of children in Acadiana,” explained O'Hara. “We invite everyone to be a part of this effort to give all students the opportunity to do great things in the classroom despite their circumstances.”
In addition to generous sponsorships by Cox Communications, Cargill Salt, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, partnerships with Walmart, KATC, and The Daily Advertiser's Adopt-A-Teacher program, United Way invites area citizens, employees at local business and members of organizations to “stuff the bus.” Information about how to stuff the bus, can be found in our toolkit by clicking and downloading here.
