In partnership with AOC Community Media and sponsored by Cox Communications, United Way of Acadiana is leading an effort to bring more educational opportunities into the homes of Acadiana's children. The organizations have partnered to cablecast educational programming on AOC's channels and their digital platform, beginning immediately. The partnership, Learn United, also includes Lafayette Parish School Sytem, Lafayette Education Foundation, Lafayette Parents for Education, Love Our Schools, LUS Fiber, CGI, UL Lafayette Learning Lab, and Acadiana Center for the Arts who have come together to deliver quality educational programming in an easy to access format.
All organizations in the partnership have been concerned about delivering educational programming during COVID-19 related closures. This partnership leverages existing resources and will feature many of Acadiana's dedicated educators. Learn United's daily programming on AOC will allow students to access and continue learning during the COVID-19 related school closures. AOC television is available in Lafayette, Iberia, St. Martin, and Acadia parishes as well as in the city of Franklin.
We acknowledge the success of this initiative relies in part on ongoing efforts by this region's educators to submit content. If you are an educator who has already developed content to share or is interested in producing new content, please submit your information through the form below. Content may include, but is not limited to, traditional teaching segments, experiments, exercises and activities, or students conducting educational experiments at home with their thoughts and feedback. Content recorded at home by phone, computer, or camera is accepted as long as it is easy to see, hear, and understand. AOC Community Media is available for some additional technological assistance.
