Hurricane Laura Disaster Relief

Through United Way of Acadiana, your donation can help cover the needs of a neighbor during the Hurricane Laura Disaster. Every dollar raised goes directly toward Disaster assistance. Unless otherwise designated below, funds will be used in the United Way of Acadiana service area first and then to assist our sister agency based in Lake Charles, United Way of Southwest Louisiana, with any remaining funds.

United Way of Acadiana is helping to implement Leader in Me in all interested schools in our service area. Based on Stephen Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Leader in Me is a school-wide process that transforms the culture of the school and instills students with the key skills that businesses and educators have identified as vital for success in the 21st Century.
Currently, United Way of Acadiana is providing free age-appropriate books to children who are age 0 to 5 in Acadia, Lafayette, St. Martin and Vermilion parishes. It's part of our mission to increase their chances of graduating high school on time, and Dolly Parton's Imagination Library provides children the education fundamentals that put them on the path to succeed in school.
United Way of Acadiana’s PACT United provides grants to organizations focused on helping more children graduate from high school, building financial stability in hard working families, and ensuring that neighbors meet their basic needs.
During times of disaster, United Way of Acadiana is on the front lines assessing and meeting the needs of those affected. Through partnerships, we are able to leverage resources and make the greatest impact in long-term recovery efforts for community members.
