United Way of Acadiana would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the volunteers, donors and supporters who assisted us during the recent flood.
To date, 957 volunteers donated 3,813 hours of service collecting, sorting and distributing donations; managing distribution sites, packaging food boxes and delivering donations, sometimes even in their personal vehicles to distribution centers.
Volunteers continue to assist with mud out/clean out, provided clerical support and delivered school supplies to teachers and students throughout our service area. As we transition into the recovery stage, our volunteer opportunities will change. However, our goal is to continue to engage volunteers in our year-round efforts that support education, earnings and essentials. To learn more about how you can remain connected, contact Deidra Lewis, Volunteer Mobilization Manager.
