Volunteer Center

GIVE AN HOUR. GIVE A DAY.  GIVE 10%.  GIVE 100%.  GIVE 110%.

The Volunteer Center is the primary source for civic engagement in Acadiana. We are committed to mobilizing volunteers to support the issues of education, earnings, and essentials.

EDUCATION
  • Help influence our youth to stay in school and strengthen tomorrow's workforce by volunteering for Career Connections.
  • Volunteer to be a reader at a school, library or daycare as part of United Way of Acadiana's reading initiative.
  • Participate in the LIVE UNITED movement for the annual Day of Action.
  • Register children to receive FREE books through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.

EARNINGS
  • Assist low income families with their income tax preparation.
  • Promote financial literacy to hard-working low income individuals to help them become fin ancially independent.
  • Participate in Earn It, Keep It, Save It and other Earned Income Tax Credit initiatives.

ESSENTIALS
  • Volunteer for a local food drive to help needy families meet their basic need.
  • Unite with others in your community by volunteering for Make A Difference Day.
  • Inspire hope by volunteering during the holidays.
  • Volunteer during times of disaster.

Through meaningful opportunities, volunteers help inspire more children to graduate from high school on time, build financial stability in hard working families and help neighbors meet their own basic need for food and shelter.
