American Red Cross, Acadiana Chapter Provides relief to victims of disasters, renders service to veterans, servicemen and their families. Holds classes for first aid, CPR, water safety, childcare training and provides AIDS education information. ASSIST Agency (A Self Sufficiency Improvement Support Team) To stimulate a better focus of all available local, state, private and federal resources upon the goal of enabling low-income families and individuals to obtain the skills, knowledge and motivation to secure the opportunities needed for them to become self-sufficient. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana Helps children living in single-parent households get extra emotional support through one-on-one friendships with adults who are screened and matched with them. This program aids in forming successful children and youth.

Boy Scouts of America, Evangeline Area Council Serving more than 6,000 youths in a four-parish area ages 6-17 (boys) and ages 14-20 (boys and girls in the Explorer program). Promotes character development, citizenship training, personal fitness, ethical decision making, and community service in youth through a proven recognition and advancement program. Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic Lafayette's health care community has pledged to help our hardworking friends and neighbors through the Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic (LCHCC). Two evenings and one morning each week, volunteers from the health care field donate their time to the clinic, offering free general medical, gynecological, dental services and a pharmacy. The Clinic can dispense free medication on a long-term basis, not just an initial dosage. And, the Clinic is the only facility in Acadiana that offers free dental care. The Clinic also provides an eye clinic and mental health counseling to eligible patients.

Lafayette Council on Aging, Inc. Assists elderly to maintain independent living with supportive services such as: homemaking, transportation, home delivered meals,. personal emergency response systems, help with utilities, case management, outreach, referrals, and training and employment.
